Read below for the quick details or watch the video for some explanation of why we want to get back to in-person worship and how these precautions will help us do so safely
As Virginia enters phase 1 of re-opening, Resurrection Community will begin meeting for outdoor worship and we invite you to join us!! Read on for the details and RSVP here to get the specific address (members and regular attenders, this is all the same info as was in your email). We are following the rules and guidelines from the governor’s office as well as paying close attention to the available scientific knowledge.
On May 24, May 31st, and June 7th, we will be meeting for outdoor worship (under a party tent) in Pungo, about 12 minutes from our normal place at the PA rec center. For future Sundays, we’ll re-evaluate as more information becomes clearer in the coming weeks.
What you need to do to join in-person worship:
Please make an appropriate decision for your own health if you or those you are in frequent contact with are in a higher-risk category. Given the nature of COVID-19, we can’t guarantee that any individual person will not get infected.
Do NOT come if you have had fever or COVID-19 symptoms in the past 14 days or exposure to a known COVID-19 case in the past 14 days.
If possible, bring your own lawn chairs. We'll have some available for those who forget or don't have one.
Maintain six-foot physical distance from non-household members and instruct your children to do the same. This applies both to where you set up your chairs and to how you interact with people during the morning.
Please wear a mask/face-covering of some kind as much as possible.
Use the bathroom before you come (seriously!) We are meeting in the front yard of a private home and for the sake of minimizing cross-contact, we want to reserve their bathroom for emergencies only.
Other precautions we're taking as a community:
The biggest precaution is the fact of meeting outside. This allows us to have a truly non-contact service and gives plenty of room for any aerosol viral particles to disperse.
We will not be passing any items. The offering will remain strictly online and there will be no printed worship guides or children's worship guides. For the Lord's Supper, we will have pre-packaged communion elements that you will come forward individually to pick up from the table and then we will take them together.
We will not have the mid-service greeting time.
We will have hand sanitizer available.
There will be no children’s program or nursery.
If you would like to join us and are not a regular attender of Resurrection, please RSVP to receive the exact address. Also please feel free to contact us with any questions or to learn more about our reasoning for any of the above procedures.
