Membership at Resurrection
While “church membership” is not a Biblical phrase, we believe it is a thoroughly Biblical concept. Membership in a church is not a matter of gaining access or of paying for certain privileges or benefits, as in many other organizations, but rather is formalizing the community connections and relationships you have already formed. If you’re just checking out Resurrection, visit the “I’m New” page to see how to explore the community and begin to find your sense of place and connection here. If you’ve been around for a bit and are ready to formalize your connection, keep reading!
Membership materials
From time to time, we hold an “Inside Resurrection” discussion as a structured opportunity to learn more about the personality and beliefs of Resurrection and what it means to become a formal member of the community. We cover Core Christianity (basic beliefs), Personality (what makes Resurrection unique), and the PCA (our denomination). The links open the brief outline handouts for each section. If there is no Inside Resurrection coming up, you can simply get together with Pastor Jimmy (contact) to discuss them or if you’ve been around a while and/or are already familiar with the PCA, you can just glance through the outlines on your own and see if there is anything you want to talk more about before filling out the membership application below.
membership process
The formal process is to simply fill out the brief application below and then we will contact you to set up a conversation with two elders. After that conversation, you’ll stand up in front of the congregation on a Sunday morning to publically affirm the membership vows and be publically welcomed into the Resurrection Community.
