The Christian season of Advent is the 4 weeks leading up to Christmas and marks the beginning of the year in the church calendar. Advent is a time of hopeful longing and expectation as we remember the fulfillment of God’s promises in the coming of Jesus and look forward to his coming again. In the midst of holiday busyness, personal and family Advent traditions, such as candle-lighting, prayers, and readings can help keep our hearts focused on God and his promises.
